The Garden Club of Ohio is pleased to announce this year’s Perennial Bloom Award…….

Mary Kay Covington!

When you hear the name Mary Kay Covington, the word “delightful” comes to mind.  She has a beautiful smile and a twinkle in her eye, and you can’t help being happy when she’s around.

Mary Kay, a resident of Shaker Heights, OH, has been a member of West Shore Arrangers since 1976—45 years! She is also a Master Flower Show Judge and she’s been the Endangered Species chair for Garden Club of Ohio since 2013. Mary Kay is a Gold Circle member of the GCO board, meaning that she has served for over 20 years. She also has a full-time job at a Cleveland law firm.

When it’s time for Mary Kay to give her report at the GCO board meetings, you’re in for a treat! She always has fun facts about endangered species in Ohio and around the world. If you’re fast with your identification of the species she’s talking about, you may even win a prize!

Mary Kay is generous and good natured and has been very supportive of GCO and its mission to support every aspect of gardening through education, horticulture, and floriculture.  The Garden Club of Ohio is proud to nominate Mary Kay Covington for this year’s Perennial Bloom award.
