Seeds of Friendship Summer 2021 report
Another year of the COVID Pandemic and few meetings, however, so many clubs still remembered Seeds of Friendship and the people of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Your faithful support of this state wide project to save the African mountain gorillas by helping the people living there is very impressive.
We received 1,936 pkgs. of 8 kinds of seeds and 2 boxes of Zinnia seeds; 104 pair of garden gloves. All of the clubs that sent checks including a GCO’s donation amounted to $3,275.00. Cash donations amounted to $539.15, which was used for seeds and $7.25 for expenses. Home Depot donated $300.00 worth of seeds also. This was better than last year. So even the virus did not deter your giving spirit.
Many thanks go to the following garden clubs that donated this year:

Jeff Ramsey, Co-founder and Manager of Partners in Conservation at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium received our donations on April 19th. He will be speaking to us at our convention June 20-21, about the trip the seeds made to Africa this year and other news about the people and the plight of the mountain gorillas.
